Launching in Vietnam – October 2024

PPA Tour Australia (PPAA) is proud to announce the launch of PPAA RePlay, an exciting new sustainability initiative set to debut at the Vietnam Open in October 2024. This innovative program is designed to reduce waste and make pickleball more accessible by recycling and repurposing used equipment such as paddles, balls, bags, and nets.

By partnering with local clubs, schools, and manufacturers, PPAA RePlay will provide a valuable solution to keeping pickleball gear out of landfills while redistributing it to players and communities across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

Key Objectives of PPA RePlay:

  • Sustainability: Tackle the issue of equipment waste by collecting and recycling paddles, balls, nets, and more.
  • Accessibility: Repurposed equipment will be distributed to schools, clubs, and players, making the sport more inclusive and accessible across the region.
  • Community Engagement: Empower the pickleball community to contribute to environmental responsibility and become active participants in the program.

How the Program Works:

  • Collection Points: Special collection tubs will be placed at the Vietnam Open, and key local clubs to gather used equipment.
  • Sorting Process: Once collected, the gear will be categorized as usable, repairable, or recyclable.
  • Redistribution: Usable items will be donated to schools, clubs, and players to enhance participation in pickleball.
  • Repair and Recycle: To come in 2025

Manufacturer Support:

Leading manufacturers in the pickleball industry are on board, offering donations of new or lightly used equipment, as well as assistance with the recycling efforts to ensure no gear goes to waste.

Promoting Sustainability at the Vietnam Open

The launch of PPAA RePlay will be a highlight of the Vietnam Open, with on-site promotion and community-driven efforts to raise awareness. The initiative will also be promoted via social media, while local clubs and schools help drive engagement.

Future Expansion:

Following its debut in Vietnam, PPAA RePlay will expand to other major pickleball events across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, reinforcing its long-term commitment to both sustainability and accessibility in the sport in support of Pickleball Australia Association.

Join us in our mission to promote environmental responsibility while making pickleball gear accessible to all players, one recycled paddle at a time!
