PPA Perth Pickleball Open Serves Up Sunshine, Showdowns & Standouts

The 2025 PPA Tour Australia: Perth Pickleball Open was held from May 9–11 at Mt Lawley Tennis Club under picture-perfect conditions, drawing big local crowds and showcasing some of the best pickleball talent in the country. Proudly presented by the City of Stirling, the event featured a full program of Pro, Pro Masters, and Junior divisions, with top-tier matches and a vibrant family atmosphere.


Pro Division Results

Men’s Singles (5.0 and Above)
Louis Laville took top honours in the Pro Men’s Singles division, prevailing over a quality field that included Andrew Horridge and Robbie Lee. Laville’s consistent play and athleticism proved the difference in this tight round-robin contest.

Women’s Singles (5.0 and Above)
Roos van Reek emerged victorious in the Pro Women’s Singles, topping a strong group including Kei Sawaki and Katie Morris. Van Reek’s ability to control points from the baseline and stay mentally composed was key to her success.

Men’s Doubles (5.0 and Above)
The team of Louis Laville and Andrew Horridge came out on top in the Pro Men’s Doubles after a tough series of round-robin matchups. With solid chemistry and sharp net play, they edged out challenges from teams including Oliver Gray & Jai Grewal and Michael Russ & Oliver Dobson.

Women’s Doubles (5.0 and Above)
Roos van Reek and Kaitlynn Hart joined forces to take gold in the Pro Women’s Doubles division, fending off strong teams including Molly O’Donoghue & Katie Morris and Kei Sawaki & Seina Shima.

Mixed Doubles (5.0 and Above)
In a competitive Pro Mixed Doubles field, Kaitlynn Hart and Andrew Horridge delivered the goods, overcoming strong challenges from combinations like Roos van Reek & Jai Grewal and Molly O’Donoghue & Louis Laville.


Pro Masters Division Results

Men’s Singles 50+ (4.0 and Above)
David Marshall took out the Pro Masters Men’s Singles title with a strong showing in the round-robin format, holding off experienced competitors Stephen Lim and Marty Bertuleit.

Men’s Doubles 50+ (4.0 and Above)
Troy Hargreaves and Steve Armson teamed up to win the Pro Masters Men’s Doubles 50+, coming out ahead of strong teams including Stephen Lim & Hock (Jackson) Lim and Russell Dique & Marty Bertuleit.

Women’s Doubles 50+ (4.0 and Above)
The pair of Anna-Lise Bolton and Angela Bertuleit triumphed in the round-robin format over other experienced duos such as Catherine Griffen & Helen Brown.

Mixed Doubles 50+ (4.0 and Above)
David Marshall returned to the podium in Mixed Doubles alongside Anna-Lise Bolton, with the pair edging out competition from Angela Bertuleit & Lindsay McMillan and Cindy Meintjes & Steve Armson.


Junior Boys Singles Spotlight

One of the most talked-about performances of the weekend came from the Junior Boys Singles division, where Logan Ramachandran impressed with his speed, control, and court awareness. Ramachandran’s steady improvement over the past year has marked him as one of Australia’s top young prospects.


Perth Turns It On

With clear skies throughout and the beautiful setting of Mt Lawley Tennis Club, the Perth Pickleball Open created a lively and welcoming environment for players and fans. Locals turned out in force to support the event, making it one of the most well-attended tournaments of the year in Western Australia.

Pro player Katy Hart praised the weekend, saying:
“Perth, you were unreal! Having my family around made all the difference — tour life can get lonely, so this week really filled the tank. Nothing beats relaxing at the beach before comp days. Grateful for the reset and the vibe out here!”
