Sitting right on the Queensland-New South Wales border, PPA Tweed Heads 2026 returns as the tour stop where state pride, unfinished business and season-defining moments collide. This is the event where players don’t just chase medals; they cross the line for bragging rights, rankings, and momentum heading deeper into the PPA Tour Australia season. The first 250 of the year brings more points, more prize money and more excitement.

After two explosive events in 2025, the message is clear: Voyager Tweed Heads is the battleground, and 2026 is shaping up to be the fiercest chapter yet.

Last Year Set the Standard

The 2025 Tweed events delivered champions who thrived under pressure and rivals who came painfully close.

Singles

Hong Kit Wong cemented himself as the King of Tweed and took control, delivering a composed, clinical run to gold. Behind him, Harrison Brown and Mitchell Hargreaves proved the margins are razor-thin, and both return knowing exactly how close they were. Joey Wild is also showing that he is right up there in the men’s singles conversation

Somer Dalla-Bona stamped her authority in Tweed, showing why she’s one of the most dangerous competitors on tour. Michaela Haet and Andie Dikosavljevic stayed in striking distance, and neither will settle for silver this time around. Will the rise of Sahra Dennehy at this very venue see a permanent fixture on the singles podium in 2026?

Can Wong defend on hostile ground, or does the border finally bite back? Is this still Somer’s court, or does Tweed crown a new queen?

Doubles

When George Wall & Roos van Reek clicked, the rest of the field felt it. Calm, aggressive and relentless, they took gold, but only after an epic battle with Danni-Elle Townsend & Joey Wild. These teams are one a piece at Tweed, and this set up the battle at the top of 2025.

George Wall & Joey Wild battled with Jack Wong & Eunggwon Kim, with teams each coming away with a gold medal at Tweed Heads in 2025. It was Roos van Reek & Katy Hart who claimed their first gold together, whilst Roos van Reek & Somer Dalla-Bona were golden girls in event one.

Will last year’s gold pairing hold the line or will a new partnership cross it first?

Why Tweed Heads Hits Different

Tweed Heads doesn’t just sit on a border; it creates one.

  • Queensland vs New South Wales
  • Local heroes vs interstate challengers
  • Established names vs rising threats

Every draw feels tighter. Each match feels louder. All wins feel personal. This is where players cross the line from contender to champion, or go home knowing how close they were.

The Heart of Tweed: Where Amateurs Cross the Line

While the spotlight often shines on podium finishes, PPA Tweed Heads has always been powered by its amateur community, and nowhere is that more evident than at the border.

From Queensland locals defending home courts to players crossing the line from the Northern Rivers of NSW, Tweed Heads is where grassroots pickleball meets the PPA stage.

This is the event where:

  • Club players test themselves against interstate rivals
  • First-time PPA competitors step onto a national tour court
  • Long-time doubles partners finally get a crack at a PPA medal
  • Bragging rights last long after the final dink is played

For many amateurs, Tweed isn’t just another tournament — it’s their major. PPA Tweed Heads is where amateurs cross the line from participation to performance. Whether you’re chasing gold or just your best-ever tournament, Tweed Heads is where amateurs become part of the story.
