Australia / New Zealand Collegiate Pickleball Championships! Golden Tickets to the USA Up for Grabs!

The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as the best student pickleball players get ready to battle it out in the inaugural Australia / New Zealand Collegiate Pickleball Championships, a Major League Pickleball (MLP) style event with high stakes and international dreams on the line.
Hosted as part of the Australian Pickleball Championships at the Pimpama Sports Hub on the Gold Coast, this competition kicks off from 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 2nd, 2025. And the prize?
The top two teams will punch their ticket straight to the Collegiate World Championships in the USA, with accomodation, fees, and an unforgettable pickleball experience all taken care of.
MLP Format – Fast, Fierce, and No Limits
The tournament will follow the thrilling MLP team format:
- 2 Male + 2 Female players per team
- No DUPR cap – meaning the court will feature raw skill, fierce rallies, and plenty of upsets
- Teams can be made up of students from different universities across Australia or New Zealand
This is your chance to form a dream team, combining talent from both countries to take on the region’s best student players.
Who Can Play?
To be eligible, you must be:
- A current student enrolled at a university in Australia or New Zealand (undergraduate or higher degree)
- A Pickleball Australia member (yes, MLPA athletes are welcome!)
- No age restriction

The top two teams from Pimpama will fly to Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas, to represent our region on the world collegiate stage from October 31 – November 2, 2025.

The Collegiate World Championships
The USA event features:
- Team Event – 64-team MLP bracket with round robin group play, leading into a single elimination bracket (with consolation matches for early exits)
- Singles Open – Men’s & Women’s divisions (64 players each)
- Challenger Brackets – Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles for those not in the team event
Expect a festival atmosphere, world-class facilities, and the chance to put Australia and New Zealand collegiate pickleball on the global map.
